The FG420A was a budget dreadnought shaped acoustic available between 1989 and 1995, but with some nice touches like an abalone rosette, bound fingerboard and the usual Yamaha build quality. The top was spruce with black pick guard. The sides back and neck were made from nato and the fingerboard was bubinga with pearl dots. Both neck and body were bound. Tuners were chrome.
