Master guitar luthier Saburo Nogami was the first apprentice at the Masaru Kohno workshop, where he worked from 1959 to the beginning of the 70s. He then joined the Zen-On factory where he was overseeing the guitar production. He also continued to use his own name as a brand during the 70s and possibly the 80s. Mr Nogami was also a good friend of Kazuo Yairi and he supervised Yairi's factory in Gifu for many years.

This is one of Nogami's early models made in 1972 Japan. An absolutely stunning build which results in a tone like nothing else. Solid high grade Sitka Spruce with solid Rosewood back and sides. One of the nicest sounding classicals we have ever stocked. The high end sounds sparkly and clear while the low end is beautifully rounded, large and not muddy whatsoever. This guitar truly sings and is an absolute pleasure to play. Better than some $5k guitars we have stocked in the past. Something of this quality is a guitar for life.

This guitar is in excellent condition for it's age. Frets still have plenty of life. Comfortable playability, action at the 12th fret is 4mm. Room on the saddle to be lowered if desired. This guitar comes with a hard case.
