Description
Yamaha GC-5 Y Ezaki 1979 MIJ Classical Guitar
Yamaha GC-5 Grand Concert classic, made in Japan 1979, gloss natural.
The label inside this guitar is signed by master luthier Hideyuki Ezaki, who joined Yamaha in the mid 70s. Ezaki spent three years in Spain learning the craft from the best in the game and would go on to become Yamaha's chief luthier.
After retiring from Yamaha he went on to build guitars under his own name, which fetch significant cash. This handcrafted beauty has a solid spruce top and two-ply rosewood back and sides paired with a mahogany neck, capped with an ebony fingerboard. Everything is exactly in it's place, it's absolutely stunningly crafted. The tone on offer is rich and clear: singing treble, deep tuneful bass and an airy complexity across the whole range. The responsiveness and detail make for a rewarding feel and tone... this is a class act.
